If I Am Legally Separated in New York State and Want to Get Married to Same Person Again
Getting married in i state but residing in a unlike land?
Hello so I am a trivial dislocated and I'm hoping someone tin assistance me out. My fiance and I live in Maryland but we will be having our ceremony in NJ considering that's where we are from. I was doing some research and I know I have to get the license in NJ because that's where the ceremony will be. However since I am not a resident it says it has to exist washed where the ceremony volition exist and so I'one thousand assuming the county that Parsippany is in because thats where everything volition take plsce. But it says the license is but valid in that location so I am confused similar does that hateful after we get the license and I am married in Parsippany everything is all prepare and washed ? Similar practice I need to obtain anything from Maryland since that's where we reside ?

That is a little misleading... H and I live in MS but got married in TN and people elope to AR all the time in MS... call the Court house/Metropolis Clerk in Parsippany and inquire them for some insight!

So don't quote me on this. I am in a similar situation. Live in PA but getting married in FL. I know I have to get the license in FL and go information technology filed in FL etc. however for some reason I ever thought you still demand to go to the county's office in the state you live to get it recognized. I take a coworker who did the exact same affair as me and got married in FL simply lives in PA and when I asked her what she did equally far equally getting it recognized in PA she said zilch, and that yous don't have to exercise anything. Granted I am deff going to be calling my county'southward office to double cheque this so I think that is your best bet.

Call the court clerk. Nosotros live in FL and got married in OK, and all we had to do was to get our marriage license in OK. We didn't have to exercise anything in FL. My understanding is that marriages are recognized between every state (so, if yous become married in NY then move to MN, your marriage is recognized without you having to exercise anything), but definitely call to double-check.

A license is what allows y'all to become married, and yep it'southward only valid for you to get married in 1 county. Simply afterward the license you turn the license in to get a spousal relationship certificate. And a marriage certificate is valid is every state. You merely couldn't get a license in one county and so get married in some other. Information technology's a niggling weird but the license is temporary until you are actually married and have a document.

For NJ though since I'grand not a resident it says I tin only get the license from the county that I will exist married in

Hi Dominika! Yous'll need to apply for a marriage license in Parisppany. When they say that the license is simply valid in that municipality, it means that you lot apply for a license in the municipality where yous are getting married, and they approve your marriage application to get married there. So you tin't apply for a matrimony license in Parisppany, then effort to use that license in Maryland for example!
You'll apply for your wedlock license, go married, take your officiant mail in the completed license, then yous'll receive your marriage certificate which is valid throughout the The states. Y'all don't need to do anything to recognize your wedlock in Maryland, merely if you are changing your name you volition need to practice that process locally!

@Dominika- no the officiant can simply postal service it dorsum to Parisppany. So Parisppany bug the marriage certificate. You will then demand to contact Parisppany to get a re-create of your marriage certificate, Morris county is not involved.
